Year 2 Newsletter and Homework: 10.10.24

Dear parents,

Please find the homework for this week.  

English Reading:  Please read and discuss the book your child has each day and share the Library Bedtime Book which they have chosen to bring home.  PLEASE SIGN THE READING RECORD BOOK DAILY TO SHOW YOU HAVE HEARD THEM READ OR HAVE DISCUSSED THE BOOK READ.  These will be changed on the days below:

Changing books - MON: Matthew team,  TUE: Mark team,  WED: Luke team,  THU: John team

Spellings: Spelling Shed.  Please watch your child as they write their letters and help correct them if written back to front or incorrectly. 

List 7- Words where ‘wr’ makes a /r/ sound at the beginning of words.

Spell List: write, wrote, wrap, wrong, wrecked, when, what, my, said, have

RE - Prayer Partner Surprise - Write a prayer for your prayer partner ready for sharing with them the next time we meet with them.  Decorate it in a way you think they would like and use your best presentation or type it. WE ARE SHARING THESE WITH PARTNERS NEXT WEEK

RE - Refer to sheet attached - create a prayer space at home to celebrate God’s gifts.  Take a photo of your prayer and space for Seesaw. Team points will be awarded.

 

General Information

Year 2 Class Book Share and Games Morning - Tuesday 15th October in Year 2 class - 9.10am-10.10am -  Instead of a class assembly in the hall this term, you are invited to a morning session where the children and yourselves will be introduced to some homework maths games to support their maths fact knowledge in class and for your children to share their classroom and work with you.

Forest School Session - Thursday 17th October - Please read the letter that has been sent home today in your child’s bag.

Parent Pupil Meetings - Tuesday 22nd October - Your appointment time will be stapled into your child’s reading record book by next Wednesday.  If you have not returned a slip, I’ll appoint you a time that I have available.

2 Johns E-Safety Parent Session - Wednesday 9th October - 8.00pm-9.30pm - Please follow the login details in the attached document (REFER TO YOUR EMAIL).  I can not recommend this webinar on Zoom enough - I always learned so much to support my children as they grew up with the new technology and the 2 Johns talk about things relevant to all primary school children including those of Year 2 age.
