Year 3

Class Representatives: School Council, Laudato Si and Chaplaincy Team

Welcome to Year 3

PE days are:

Wednesday - Games with Mr Fyfe (outside weather permitting) BUT after October half-term PE will be on Tuesday afternoon.

We recommend sending your child to school without earrings on PE days.   All clothing and footwear needs to be clearly labelled to avoid things getting lost.

Forest School advice - please look out for messages on the class Dojo or homework note.

Homework and Class Newsletter:

Homework will be sent home each Friday. Please remind your child to hand in their homework on Thursday so it can be marked before giving it back to them on Friday.  Spellings will be sent to you via the Dojo platform. The children will be tested on these spellings the following Friday and the children's results will be recorded at the back of their reading records.

Reading quizzes

These will be completed on the following days:

Monday - Matthew Team

Tuesday - Mark Team

Wednesday - Luke Team

Thursday - John Team

Friday- any child who may have not have a chance to do it during the rest of the week or they have finished their book.

We hope to have a slot in the library on Tuesday afternoon.  If your child finishes their longer 'bedtime' book which is the book that you read aloud to them (not their usual reading book) this is a good time to change it.

Class Leadership Team:

Thank you children for sharing your ideas about how you think you could support our class and wider school this year.  Congratulations to Daniella and Robyn who will be our School Council Representatives.  Winston and Jessica will be our Laudato Si Representatives and Scarlett and George have been appointed as Chaplaincy Team.

Great work sharing ideas together in Circle Time.

RHS Hyde Hall Trip

Wednesday 24th September

Come to school in uniform, bring a raincoat, bring water, bring a packed lunch, no sweets or fizzy drinks

We will be exploring rocks as part of the year three curriculum for science

It is a wonderful trip and rarely available to book so we can't wait!

Normal drop off and pick up arrangements from school.

What a wonderful day to take our learning beyond the classroom to study rocks at RHS Hyde Hall

Mark making with charcoal to prepare to create Stone Age images
