At Holy Family School, we believe that children’s mental health is just as important as their physical health and plays a vital role in their overall wellbeing and success. That is why we use the myHappymind programme to help children develop confidence, resilience, and a positive understanding of their emotions.
In addition to this programme, there is a wide range of resources and support available to help parents and carers further support their child’s mental health and emotional development both at home and beyond school, some of which can be found below.
More information on the myHappymind program can be found on our curriculum pages, which can be accessed below.

A Stormbreak is a brief 5–15 minute activity that combines simple physical movement with conversations about feelings and mental health, helping children recognise, understand and regulate their emotions. Each activity focuses on one of five key concepts — resilience, relationships, self-care, self-worth and hope & optimism — giving pupils practical tools and coping strategies that support their wellbeing and readiness to learn. The approach encourages regular discussion about emotions, builds healthy habits, and helps children develop confidence and resilience as they grow.
