Welcome back to school...
It is so lovely to be back together again in school. We have taken the week slowly and steadily and caught up with each other and shared how Lockdown has been for each of us. The Design Technology work completed at home has been lovely to share and we are looking forward to adding wheels to the vehicles that have been bought in. Other children have started to make theirs in school that were unable to at home.
Take a look regularly on Seesaw, as we shall continue to share photos and work in your child's journal with recorded voice notes from your child or myself on some work so that you can continue to witness how they are progressing and working at school and be part of that process. Carry on sharing things from home also. I hope you enjoy looking at these alongside your children.
I shall continue to email the homework/newsletter weekly as we had been so please check these on a Friday to know what your child is learning the following week and to read any important notices.

5th January 2021
You will know after the government announcement that sadly HFS is closed until after the February half term. This means that all children should remain at home, with the exception of agreed vulnerable (we don’t have any pupils in Foundation who meet this criteria) and agreed Keyworker (both parents/single parent household) children who once it has been agreed with Mrs Kelliher can be onsite for times when their parent is at work. Any shift workers will need to provide rotas.
Please see class emails and our usual online learning platforms.
Mrs Kelliher has also put lots of information on the coronavirus page on the school website (go to the Key Information tab)
Thank you for your support and understanding.

November: we have been re assessing your child's phonics and reading of high frequency words by sight and we are so impressed. All those DOTS and DASHES (sausage and beans, egg and chips!) have been paying off. Most of the children are now recapping their Phase 5 sounds and spelling patterns learned from Year 1 and at the beginning of Year 2. Well done.
Children now have three books they bring home weekly: a bedtime book to be shared with an adult for the adult to read to them or shared reading together if you wish, a Phonics or library book depending on reading ability and a High Frequency book or AR quiz book. We shall be re assessing the Quiz books once again in December. Your child should be achieving 5/5 or 9/10 10/10 to be reading at an appropriate level within their book range. If they are not yet achieving these scores consistently, more practise and talk as they read to you is needed.
