Welcome back to school after what I hope was a fantastic summer holiday.

This term our main topics are 'The Great Fire of London' and ‘Our Local Area’.  Keep an eye out for pictures of the children at work in their new class as the weeks progress...on this webpage and on our Seesaw account.

I have attached the overview of the term's topic.

I have attached the overview of this term's topic.

April 2023: Happy Easter

Welcome back to school after what I hope was a restful and faithful Easter break.

This term our main topics are 'Regal Royalty' and ‘Around Our World’.  Keep an eye out for pictures of the children at work as the weeks progress...on this webpage and on our Seesaw account.

I have attached the overview of this term's topic.

The results are in year two!  The blackbird is now the most viewed bird during the RSPB's Garden Birdwatch.  Thank you for taking part.  Our certificate is on the way.  smiley Mrs Lonergan

Spring Term Overview 2023

Summer Term Overview 2023

PE days are:

Tuesday - Games with Mr Fyfe (outside weather permitting)

Please ensure children can remove their own earrings (there is a mirror in class or a friend will be invited to help them).  If they can’t put them back in, I will send them home in an envelope or you can send in a little pot for them to place them in safely so that they do not get lost from class to home.  If they are unable to remove them by themselves, please ensure they are not wearing them on these days.  All clothing needs to be clearly labelled.

Homework:

Homework will be set each Thursday or Friday and sent home via the Year 2 email.  Spellings will usually be tested on a Thursday – results of these are photographed and sent via Seesaw so you can see which ones they still need to practise.  Library and reading quizzes will be completed on the following days:

Monday - Luke Team

Tuesday - John Team

Wednesday - Matthew Team

Thursday - Mark Team

Library bedtime books are to be shared together and they will not be quizzed on these - they have a Reading Journey sticker on them and are not necessarily at your child’s reading level.
