We investigated how far sound can travel.
Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Danbury Park where they were able to go back in time and see what life would have been like living as an Anglo-Saxon. The children built shelters in the forest, they learnt how to make a fire using a flint, some twigs and some cotton wool. They then cooked bread on the fire. They created targets using mud and twigs.

Welcome to Year 4!

Welcome back to School. I hope you all had a lovely summer, the children have settled in really well this week.

This term our History topic will be the Romans. It would be really useful to visit the Library to do some research around this topic. You could google ‘Topmarks-Romans’ and browse through resources on this site.

Our Science this term is States of Matter (Solids, Liquids and Gases). Again you could use the Library as an introductory resource.

As our Religion topic is Family/People, it would be really nice if you could write a paragraph or more about your family. Could you tell me who your family are, where your family come from, why your family are special to you and ways that your family have helped you so far in your life.

Homework will go out on a Friday and needs to be returned on a Wednesday. Reading homework will follow next week when we have prepared new reading books and reading record books for everybody.

I will shortly be sending you an overview of our new curriculum for Year Four and details of our P.E days. As you know, one of these sessions will be Monday for swimming.
