Week ending 12th December.
Congratulations Foundation, on your super performance of your class Nativity. If you have a photo you would like to share with the class from the production then please email to the class address using - firstname.lastname@example.org and I can compile a gallery to put onto the website.
We have had a busy week finishing some Christmas projects and making the Christmas cakes too.
We have completed the Phase 2 phonics and have spent time checking that we can blend our sounds to read words using this set of phonemes.
Our numberwork has been using 1p, 2p and 5p to buy stamps in our post office as well as counting from any given number from 1-20. Online on Busythings, I have deleted the art and literacy areas from the choices so that the children can concentrate on their numberwork.
Our RE work involved ordering picture sets to retell the Christmas story.
Please remember that next Wednesday the children celebrate mass with the whole school and therefore need to be brought directly to the parish church ready for 8.50. We then walk back from the church to school after mass and any adults that are able to walk with us would be appreciated, please let a member of Foundation staff know if you can assist us.
Enjoy a festive weekend everyone.
Your comments regarding the induction program last Summer for your children would be much appreciated so we can continue to tailor this transition point effectively for new parents and children to the school.
Welcome to Foundation!
Hello to all our new pupils and parents who are joining us this week at Holy Family. Thank you to everyone who invited us to join them for a home visit last week it was lovely to spend some time with the children and to answer any of your questions.
Please don't forget that you can always book a quick appointment with me to answer any queries that you may have over the coming weeks as the children begin school.
On Friday 19th the children will be having a packed lunch in school, Group 1 who are visiting in the morning will remain until 12.15 and Group 2 (afternoons) will begin their session at 12.45.
PE days will be Tuesday and Friday so it is important that girls who normally wear ear rings have these removed so that the children can safely participate in their lesson. PE kits remain in school until the half term when they will be returned to you to be washed. Can I ask you to check that all PE clothing items are clearly marked with names and that the children know where to find the name so that we can ensure a full PE kit is returned to you.
Can I remind you to check the weekly newsletter for any updates on dates for the diary which will include dates for class mass, assemblies or special events.
If you have not yet completed a 'treasure box' for the pirate theme then please note that this can still come into school over the next two weeks and the children will still have an opportunity to share this with the class.
The Foundation team are looking forward to meeting you all in class this week.
